Belinda van der Monde joins the SCIP in a new position of Fundraising Manager.
This role was created to support the Southern Hearing Charitable Trust’s desire to improve the long-term sustainability of the programme.
From 2003 – 2014 Belinda was CEO for Haemophilia Foundation New Zealand (HFNZ). Her role included finding new funding sources as well as supporting existing funders, creating lasting and important relationships with organisations and raising HFNZ’s profile in New Zealand and internationally.
In 2014 Belinda left HFNZ to take on the role of CEO for the Cystic Fibrosis Association of New Zealand (CFNZ). One of her most notable achievements was to secure a reliable income stream. Belinda’s passion for the not-for-profit sector can be summed up by the Margaret Mead quote – Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has.
Farewell to – Naomi Gibson
On 26 June we say goodbye to Naomi Gibson. Naomi has worked for the programme since September 2011 in a role mostly involving paediatric Audiology. Naomi joined us from a position in Australia shortly after the Canterbury earthquakes, and so has been with the programme since the paediatric service was first integrated on the St. George’s site.
Naomi is liked and respected by staff and families alike in the work she does in the programme, and will be missed. In the interim until Naomi’s position is filled, paediatric services will be provided by other experienced staff at our Christchurch clinic.
