This book celebrating 20 years of the Southern Cochlear Implant Programme through 20 client stories shares the remarkable impact of this wonderful technology on the lives of ordinary New Zealanders. These narratives commemorate our work over two decades. Each of the 20 stories is associated with a year in the life of our programme.
Our clients live in communities around the region we serve, from across the CentralNorth Island to Wellington and all of the South Island. The joy our cochlear implant users experience through hearing is palpable. The social and economic benefits of their cochlear implant are tangible.
